Racing to the top.
Obviously the purpose of this blog post is about the Race to the Top funds. Are the plans flawed? Yes. Isn’t everything having to do with education flawed? Yes.
That comment isn’t biased or anything…
In essence, Race to the Top funding is a good idea. Give schools incentive to improve their systems and to keep building upon that but at what cost? How many schools actually qualify for this funding? How many schools are “bad” enough to receive help? Obviously, this is all up to the criteria of Race to the Top funding but when is all this going to stop? When’s the time to stop fooling around and fix it? The public schooling system in America has been in trouble for years but yet, the problems keep getting pushed back and passed off to new leaders. It’s time to stop. It’s time to make a difference.
Doesn’t the very title “race to the top” sound horribly flawed? In racing up a hill for money, might you not make bad, horrific decisions because if you don’t get there, that money will be gone?
First round of funds has been announced.
